next up is the sweater that i'm designing for my friend, Kim. i've ordered the yarn (Noro Chirimen) and i'm impatiently waiting for it to arrive. i got a great deal from Yarnzilla. they offer 20% off purchases of $60 or more and 25% off purchases totaling $125 or more. i actually got 30% off because the yarn had been marked down. can't beat that!

i'm itching to get started. i have a crazy idea that has to do with random polka dots.

rosa! rosa! rosa!

i have been working on Rosa for quite a while now and i am so ready to see the end of this project. sewing on the ruffles has been a major pain in the ass. instead of knitting them separately, as the pattern calls for, i wish that i had picked up stitches on the fabric instead. i can't remember the last time i worked on a project that was this labor intensive. i know that if i put it down it might never be completed, so i am committed to finishing it so that i can move on to designing Kim's sweater. i'm feeling inspired for this new design. my ideas have strayed a bit from the Bibi concept. it's still gelling in my my brain, but i have some new design elements that i'd like to incorporate. i'm envisioning a sort of 50's silhouette with modern elements. like everyone else in the design world right now, i'm infatuated with the Mad Men aesthetic. however, my execution rarely reflects my initial idea, so who knows what the final result will be. wish me luck in putting Rosa to bed!
